I am going to be dj’ing my family new years party using my laptop, does anyone know of DJ software that I can use to mix songs? I would like a software that I can use to remove the vocals off of songs and leave instrumentals. Is there a software? Thanks for your help!!

I want to start my own radio station using my laptop (Broadband connection), my 2 record decks- Technics 1210’s and Pioneer DJM500 Mixer. I am aware of the many set-up downloads there are and the ones that I will have to have like Winamp etc but my question is, what audio leads do I need to connect the Mixer console to my laptop, and where should they go?

How do I configure both so that I can hear from the two of them? Also I want to use Virtual DJ 5.2 and I want to be able to pre-listen from one of them.

I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 (probably from 2002) running Windows XP home, 512 ram, 80 gb hdd. Due to space constraints, I am considering using a laptop to DJ instead of the conventionals. Is there any way I can set it up on this machine? I am also willing to get a new one, though preferrably something less than $800.
1 CommentI’ve tried Virtual Turntables software before. It worked pretty well, though I’m wondering if there are better options.

I’ve been DJing for a little over half a year & I wanna know if you have some tips to teach myself to scratch? I also wanna perfect my mixing, i can always tell when the next song comes in my mixes, I don’t have serato or any of that so any tips, tricks or exercises on better beat matching, scratching & better transitions between songs without using a laptop & just using eyes, ears, & touch. thanks
