dow jones industrial average?
i’m doing some research for my school project, and i need to find data for DJIA from 1996-2007 (i.e. in 1996 DJIA was xxxx, in 1997 was xyxx…). I found only charts without numbers so it is really hard to read.
I’m having hard time to find that information. I’ve tried on following websites:
1. statistical abstract of the united states
2. united states bureau of the census reports
3. economic indicators
4. federal reserve bulletin
and many others, but i don’t know why i can not find DJIA for period from 1996 (or older) - 2007 (or 2006).
The only thing i was able to find was DJ index, but i need DJ industrial average.
Does anybody know some other site or maybe the link for this data?

go to. Yes, I know it is a charting website. But if you put in DJIA as the item to chart and then click the Interactive Chart button to the right, the chart will show you the date and closing number for that date. Take a deep breath and give it a try.

Actually you can do it right here on Yahoo. Go to Yahoo.com, click on Finance. Then in the top left bar where it says “Get Quotes” enter ^DJI and it will show you the number as of any date you want. Click on the chart and it will let you change the dates as you please. Good Luck.
